... a Friends Pain

I can't keep my thoughts off of it. It's such a horrible story.

A friend of mine buried her husband yesterday.
Her name is Heather, his name is Sean. They're both 23 years old with two small children.

I first met Heather in North Carolina when I interviewed her to work for me. I've never met Sean.

Sean was murdered, shot in the head, by a friend that Heather and Sean have known since High School.

It's all over the news, a media circus, and promises to be for some time as the murderer (he called 911 after he did it and waited outside for them to show up), has hired the former U.S. Attorney to defend him (apparently his grandfather has connections).

Everyone has questions, no one has answers.

But there Heather is, going through this. My heart breaks for her. She is so young, appears meek and quiet to the eye, but even before this tragedy, she has struck me as a very strong and capable girl.

If you think of them, please pray for Heather and the two children she is now raising (Matthew and Kaylie).

Michelle. I will be praying for Heather and for her two children. The pain and heartache she must be experiencing...leaves me wordless.

We don't know each other(although I've heard several nice things about you), but I was blog hopping and came across your post. I will be praying for your friend and her little ones. I can't even begin to imagine what she must be going through. Since Billy and I have kids now, we rarely get a chance to watch the news anymore and I haven't heard about this until now. What a terrible tragedy. Where did this happen? Again, your friend is in my prayers. Linda

Thanks for the post, we will pray.

Michelle, Congrats. I am sooooo happy for you. Sorry i didn't post sooner, I wanted to call but don't have your number. I've always really liked jeff, you've got a great guy!

We immediately made plans for travel home for the wedding, but have since had some big changes. We are actually moving back home. So we will definitely be there! We can't wait. I guess this makes us cousins...?

Send Jeff our love!
Katie (and sean, too!)

Michelle! That post should've had an emotional warning! I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine dealing with that!? Heather will definitely be in my prayers. Do you know if she is a christian? Also, if there is a place to send a card?

Thanks everyone for thinking of and praying for Heather. Linda, it actually happened in North Carolina. It wasn't local, so you weren't missing anything here. Jessica, I don't know if she's a Christian (I don't think so). If you want to send her a card, you can send it to me and I'll pass it on. That's very thoughtful of you. :)

Katie-- I'm so glad you're going to be at the wedding. Your wedding, after all, was the opportunity Jeff and I took to deepen our friendship. And look at how that's turned out! :-) haha. So yes, cousin... see you there!

Praying for Heather and her two little ones. I have no idea what they are going through. I pray that justice is served and God comforts their hearts.
