... The Vetta Collection

Back in 2005, I applied to and was accepted by an international stock photo agency. They sell licenses to use photos for various things such as: magazine articles, book covers, websites, signage, greeting cards, etc, etc, etc. They take a cut of the sale (for brokering it) and I get the rest. I rarely know what my photos are used for though I do run across them occasionally on the internet or once at the library in a book. It's quite exhilarating. Especially when they credit me as the photographer.

I used to track my sales and progress obsessively and submit new work regularly. That was then. Now, I all but forget about my account, excepting of course when the check arrives in the mail each month. :)

So imagine my surprise when I'm blog surfing and find out that the company has created a new collection of their top work. The Vetta Collection. The collection represents less than 1% of their existing files and is touted as the best of the best. They've even raised the price on these 20 fold.

And you know what? One of my files was included. Little ol' me! Ha. I just had to share. Funny thing is, I wouldn't have chosen this as one of my best shots. Guess that goes to show what I know. Or at least else how art and beauty are subjective.

Thanks to the beautiful African sunset and the tradition of sundowners.

hey, michelle...i just wanted to let you know I made that chicken tikka masala dish tonite for din-din and it was AMAZING!! It blends perfectly with the steamed turmeric rice/peas. I also served steamed honey-ginger snap peas and fresh mango slices alongside it. Delish!!!
